Hi folks, hope you don’t mind me adding to this conversation.
@storygenie5 you didn’t mention which browser you are using with your tablet.I have Android 7 on my tablet. In a test just now, I logged in with FF 93.1.0. I highlighted a word, clicked the LINK icon button in the block toolbar, which was stuck to the top of the tablet window. The Link URL box shows up for a brief second and disappears, then the highlighted word is de-selected and the keyboard shows up. Link is unsuccessful.
I then switched to the “Desktop site” mode in FF and there was no improvement.
Repeated the test in Chrome for Android v94.0.4606.71 in tablet mode with success. The Link URL box remained visible and I was able to add a link.
In both browsers, the toolbar was stuck to the top of the tablet window like in @kokkieh’s second screenshot.

Hi.
I’ve already tried desktop application, and all that showed up was a blank screen.
I don’t know how to use a desktop, so I don’t have one. I am using chrome.

@justjennifer appreciate the help – feel free to jump in anytime!
I’m not familiar with the tablet experience on Android – can you clarify the difference between “tablet” and “desktop” modes?
@storygenie5 can you confirm the version of Chrome you’re using? If it’s not up to date to @justjennifer’s version, see if you can update it through the Google Play store and try again? Thanks!

Hello again, every mobile browser also has a “desktop mode”. It has nothing to do with the WP desktop application.
So now we know your Android version and that you’re using Chrome. Make sure you’re using the latest Chrome for Android version which you can download from Google Play.

Slow going hunting and pecking the keyboard on my tablet, but I think I answered your question. 😁

Hi again @storygenie5 If you are referring to my last comment “Slow going hunting and pecking the keyboard on my tablet, but I think I answered your question.” it was directed at helper-heroponriki since we posted at just about the same time and it took me a bit of time to compose my reply on my tablet’s keyboard.
Regardless, if you are not using the latest version of Chrome for Android, you’ll want to update it via Google Play. Once you’ve done that, try posting to your site with it and see if the block toolbar doesn’t appear at the top of the browser window for you. I had a much better experience in Chrome than Firefox.
helper-heroponriki – If I wasn’t clear in my reply about “Desktop Mode” in the Android browser I can upload screenshots. The tablet is great for reading, but if I am going to post with it, which is rarely, I much prefer using the WP Android app.

Hi, @justjennifer.
I am using the latest version of chrome, but not the latest android update, as my device doesn’t support it.
