Feature Request: Add Comments to Blog Posts Block settings

  Howdy!

  There are numerous settings options in the Blog Posts block https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/blog-posts-block/ but I feel it is missing an important one: displaying the current number of comments on a post.

  This information does display on the Posts page when the Homepage is set to display “your recent posts” and so should be available in the Blog Posts block as well. Many times seeing the number of comments on a post leads a site visitor to investigate a post further.

  That is a solid suggestion, thanks! I’ve added it to our tracker here: https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/56925

  Not sure how quickly that will get attention. It’s possible that with the changes that Full Site Editing (FSE) are likely to bring, there may ultimately be a system in the works that will allow for the creation of entire blog pages, rather than be limited to a handful of discrete settings within a block.
