Feature request for "Paste as Text" button

    So far as I’m concerned, the visual editor is badly broken and the text editor no better. Recent changes now mean the user has two choices, neither of which is satisfactory: when pasting text, one can choose either:

    a. No HTML at all; or
    b. All HTML included.

    I suggest the user be provided a check-box list of commonly desired HTML elements and let “Paste as Text” preserve the HTML that is checked, stripping out all the rest. The list might include

    <b>

    <i>
    link

    1. That should do it. This would replicate the old “paste” action, assuming all those boxes are checked.

      What we have now is completely unsatisfactory to me, and so far I’ve not found a good off-line blog editor for OS X.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Well, that didn’t work at al. Here are the elements I would include in the check-box list, sans angle brackets:

    strong
    b
    em
    i
    link
    blockquote
    ul
    ol
    li

    I want to preserve those, along with paragraphs, and wipe out other HTML.

    BTW, it would be nice if I could edit my post in this forum after seeing how it displays. Make that another request.
