feature request: manually ignore particular referrers
-
It would be awesome to have the option of manually selecting particular referrers to ignore or mark as spam. That would let us manually deal with the referrer spam problem and not have to wait for support to respond. It would let us not count visits from those referrers towards our stats.
What I have in mind is a little button beside each referrer titled “Ignore” or something like that. Clicking the Ignore button would grey out the referrer, letting you know that those visits are no longer being included in the statistics.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I agree. Something like that would be good. I have been having a lot of trouble with these spam referrers or bogus referrers – and I would like it to stop. In particular, I am worried that these referrers are actually lifting images from my blog and using them to promote malware amongst other things.

sanchomccann, we’re working on it. For now, keep reporting them to http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ so we can filter them out.
winderjssc, no worries, they’re mostly just automated bots with the sole purpose of leaving that referrer record. See this for more info: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/regarding-referrer-spam

The plagiarism checker picked up the text on the “Comment” action, with any number of pages “copying” that text, on at least 7 or 8 posts. What a waste of time.
