Feature Slider Layout Problem

I am using the Oxygen theme and the feature slider is working successfully. The only problem is that there is a gap between the menu at the top of the page and the top of the slider, so the top of the slider is not in line with the secondary menu (black) which is on the left side of the page. This layout irregularity is getting to me- help!

How did you get the slider to work? I’m having issues :(

1.First make sure all the 6 pics you want to use on the slider are 750 PIXELS wide.

    2. Then set your homepage to “Showcase page” template. To use the template, create or edit a page, and assign it to the Showcase Page (you will find this drop down menu under the title, Template, which is on the right hand-side of the screen).

    3. On the left hand side of your screen, click settings, reading, and then set the Front page option to Static Page. Select the page you just assigned the Showcase Page template to as your front page and then choose another page to serve as your blog page.

    4. Now create a new post. When you create the new post, select it as a sticky post (on the right hand-side, under the title Publish, click the edit button next to visibility and select “stick this post to the front page”).

5.Then click the add media button. Click the Set Featured Image button, then select a picture and click the Set Featured Image to close the window. The pic should be on the right hand-side of your screen. Then click add media button again and now select the pic you had set as your featured image, give the pic a title and also place the title in the caption area. Click insert into post and save.

    6. Repeat these steps for the next 5 pics and it should work
