Feature suggestion: Awesome tooltips
-
I would love to see a shortcode (e.g., [tooltip tip=”my tooltip”]my text[tooltip]) or a button in the editor that enables us to insert tooltips that produce something like is presented at http://osvaldas.info/elegant-css-and-jquery-tooltip-responsive-mobile-friendly
Currently I open the ‘Text’ view and do something like:
<span style=”border-bottom: 1px dotted #aaa; cursor: help;” title=”This is a tooltip”>my textThis works but it isn’t mobile friendly because mobile browsers don’t support tooltips via hover. A shortcode or button would make it much easier for the average user and would allow awesome looking tooltips like the one in the link above. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to increase the odds of seeing this realized.

I guess I should have checked to see if this is a wordpress.org plugin – and it is.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/responsive-mobile-friendly-tooltip/So this can go in the category of suggested plug-ins to add to wordpress.com. Also, I just want to emphasize the “mobile friendly” aspect. Tooltips are unusable on mobile devices without this.
