Feature suggestion: Quickly create a copy of a blog

Please add a button to quickly create an (unpublished) copy of a blog at another domain. This is useful for example to ease translation of a blog to another language.

    Hi porton,

Each WordPress.com site functions independently so it’s only possible to copy posts and publish them or save as a draft on the same site. If you go to My Sites > Blog Posts and click on the 3 dots (to the right), you should see the option to “Copy” — this will duplicate the post and give you the option to “Save Draft”.

If you want to move all posts from one blog to another, they can be exported and then imported onto the other site.

It is not what I need. I needed to copy all settings and layout from one blog (not just posts) to another blog.

I already did it manually :-( but I may need it in the future.

  • Hi there,

I see the benefits of having this feature and I will submit it as an idea. However, my one concern with this being available is that this would be an easy way for spammers to take advantage of (assuming the feature would include copying page/post content). Otherwise, copying theme and layout settings could be something of use.

    Thanks!
