Featured area missing in Nexus theme

  I wasn’t seeing where to ask this question in the Nexus support thread so trying here. Why is the Featured Area section missing? I haven’t been able to make it appear yet. Also, and probably connected, the featured images are way too large in that top area when an individual post is opened.
