Featured article not featuring newest article

  Currently I have 2 posts newer than the one that is featured and need help fixing the problem.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Go to Dashboard >>appearance >> theme options and select Featured Post as “Newest post” in the dropdown.

  okay, is there anyway to not feature any item?

  Yes there is a way! Create a new category and assign the individual post to it. And then go to same place and again drop-down to Select the new category.
