featured blogs

No not at all nosy. This is not about the haiku this is about attitude, mind-set, tactics.
-
Yes, timethief is right. This is about whether or not it is right or even useful to try to game the system so your blog is always the “Featured Blog.” Sometimes we get philosophical-like. I’ve never even read liquidquick’s haikus except for the one posted here. It’s not about that at all.
-
well, thanks to liquidquick, now i know why i always see raincoaster as the featured blog everytime i hit the books tag in the wp tag page.
i was even suspecting favouritism at one point, excuse the paranoia in me. ;)
-
ummmm sulz … liquidquick and raincoaster have not posted to this thread since last July … perhaps a time warp or ???
-
i wanted to ask why i see raincoaster as a featured blog every time i hit the books tag.
-

I think we established that it is indeed the person with the most posts in this category. I’m surprised it’s me, though, as there are a lot of literary bloggers on WordPress.
-
I have just become a “Featured Blog”
Is this good? What does it mean?
Should I do a dance and be proud? What it done by a person or just automated?

@zaletabakm
Hi there,
As you can tell by reading the thread above we really aren’t clear on how the determination is made. That’s why I’m hoping foolswisdom or another staff member may drop in and explain this to us. -
zaleta: well, if you go by raincoaster’s theory, you’re a featured blog because you have the most posts in the tag you were featured in. so if you want to keep on being featured, blog some more! =)

Most other people will not understand the double homour in what I’m about to say next but you will: OMG it’s the almost blind leading the blind on the forum. *lol*
… oh Lloyd …
-
It’s liquidquick’s theory, actually, although 5purposedriven suggested something along those lines earlier.
I am totally convinced it’s “Most posts” in the category. The only thing that surprises me is that I am the featured blogger in “Books” because surely there are people out there who write more about books than me. Maybe they just don’t tag their posts the way I do; if I’m writing about an author, it gets tagged Books. If I’m writing about Cthulhu, it gets tagged Books, etc etc.
-
I used to be on those lists but I have never used tags. Could be also page views and other stuff.
-
well, whoever’s theory it is, it makes sense to me. if i may ask, raincoaster? how many posts do you have in the books tag? just, you know, curious…
-
I have no idea; how would one find out? Do you have to go back and count them?
If nosy’s been on the list and never used tags, though, it seems to me that the theory goes poof.
-
if you edit your categories in sidebar to show number of posts then you’ll know. goodness, who wants to count?! lol
-
I didn’t even know you could do that. Handy, thanks!
I have 240 posts in books, not as many as I thought.
