Featured content dilemma

Hey everyone!
I’ve been using the Boston theme and its featured content -feature for some time now. However, I have an issue with it. When I select a post to be featured on my carousel slide/header, the post disappears from the rest of the page. In other words, if you scroll down my website and posts, the featured content isn’t there. The only place where the featured content is, is in the header. I want to change this. I want people to be able to see the featured post in the header and also amongst the rest of my posts.
I really have no clue how to fix this!

If you need help with your theme and site using the standalone WP software, you’ll want to head over to WordPress.org. For assistance with the Boston theme, you can post to the support forum for that theme at https://wordpress.org/support/theme/boston or contact the theme author directly for support.
