Featured content not at top in Apostrophe 2

    I’ve set up Apostrophe 2 as per instructions. I can see my featured posts are larger than regular posts on my ‘latest posts’ page / homepage. However, these larger posts are not at the top of the page. How to fix?

    In case relevant:
    * I am using the Castos seriously simple plugin to feature podcast episodes on the frontpage instead of blog posts
    * I am using a child theme, but it was just to customize colours and the footer. I did not touch the featured content functionality.

    Hi there:

    Can you let us know how you set the Featured Posts? Did you follow the steps as shown here (under Featured Content section)?

    If so, can you try to feature a non-podcasting post tag or posts that aren’t using the Castos plugin to see if that makes any difference? It’s possible that the theme may not be fully compatible with that plugin for the featured content display, so we’d like to rule that out first.

    Hm, I just created a regular post (not a podcast), tagged it as ‘featured’, set the date to a year ago, and published it. No dice – it still shows up at the bottom. And the text and image are larger, so I know the ‘featured’ styling is working, even though it shows up at the bottom.

    (I’ve since unpublished it, since it was just test content.)

    Any other suggestions for what to try?

    Hi there,

    What if you temporarily deactivate all plugins on your site, so that there is nothing that is interfering (they can be reactivated after your testing is complete) and then check to see if featured posts show up correctly in your theme?

    After you deactivate your plugins, do you see blog posts with the “featured” tag shown here? https://aidevolved.com/tag/featured/

    If you see posts listed there correctly, then visit your homepage. Do you see the same posts listed on your “featured tag page” showing up on your homepage using the featured post formatting?

    if I add an ‘s’ to ‘tags’, then yes, the featured tags show up: https://aidevolved.com/tags/featured/

    I tried deactivating all the plugins and tested this using regular ‘posts’ instead of podcast pages. Still no luck.

    Any tips for how else I can debug this? Which file of the plugin theme handles the ordering, so I can debug in there?

    Interesting, so I see some of this coming through on your site. The featured posts are larger, but not moved to the top.

    Have you made any modifications to the theme?
