Even though the showcase page and the demo of Shoreditch explicitly mention and show the possibility of using featured content (for a slider of the posts) – I do not see the promised menu item in my Customiser menu. So the first step explained on the Shoreditch showcase page
Navigate to Customize → Featured Content
seems to be impossible. What am i doing wrong? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Of what site are you speaking?
The site at https://ntemoreis2009.wordpress.com/ is using a very old, retired theme, called ChaoticSoul, not Shoreditch.
-
Sorry, that reference was indeed to a 2009 blog. THe site I was referring to is the wordpress.xacotest.be site .
-
That site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software at another host.
For future reference, support for the self-hosted version of Shoreditch is provided at https://wordpress.org/support/theme/shoreditch
But the issue here is that you’re not using Jetpack. The Featured Content feature of this theme is powered by the Jetpack plugin, so you need Jetpack installed on the site and connected to your WordPress.com account to enable that option in the Customizer:
The Testimonials and Social Links Menu features also require Jetpack to work.

Many thanks for your quick response. I did install Jetpack and the featured content menu item was there!
