Featured Content Slider

My featured content slider only displays a black screen with a thinking/loading icon. I’ve put tags on the posts I want featured. I’ve also cropped my featured images so they are 980×520. The front page is configured to static. I’m using the “organization” theme. Interestingly, the slider seems to work when I’ve opened up the customizer window (I can even advance through the content slides) but I can’t get it to display or cycle through the content when I click on “view site”. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi there!

Your slider’s loading on my end, however, I do see the loading icon for a few seconds when first opening your site. Can you confirm if your slider loads after waiting a little while?

Are you also able to replicate while viewing the theme’s demo site? The demo site can be viewed here:

    https://organizationdemo.wordpress.com/

The long load time you’re experiencing could be due to the Internet connection on your end. Have you tried loading your site on another network? You can also test your speed using a tool such as the following:

I’m also going to run this by the theme’s author to check if there’s anything they can do on their end to help out. I’ll let you know what I hear back.

Thanks for looking at my site. I figured out the problem shortly after I submitted my question to support. The featured content slider wouldn’t display until I configured the section right underneath the content slider–the area called “middle three featured pages”. As soon as I chose which pages I wanted displayed there, then boom, the featured content slider no longer had the black screen and loading icon! I’m not sure why I had to designate those before the rest would work but I’m happy now that everything’s going smoothly. For those facing the same issue, simply navigate appearance–>customize–>theme and choose which pages you want in “middle content left”, “middle content center”, and “middle content right”.

I’m glad you figured this out, and thank you so much for sharing your solution! :)
