Featured Content Slideshow

  Hi. I’m using toujours theme for my blog and in live demo says it came with a slideshow but I cant’ find it to add into my page. Please help me. Thanks.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi ebiimii,

  To use the theme’s slideshow, you’ll need to upload large featured images — at least 1160 pixels wide, and 655 pixels tall — for posts that will be featured in the slideshow.

  To activate the slideshow:

  1. Go to Customize → Featured Content.
  2. Enter a tag name for the featured posts.
  3. Edit the posts that you want to display in the slideshow, and give them the featured tag you have just selected.

  To activate the slideshow:
  1. Go to Customize → Featured Content.

  I am having the same problem as ebiimii above, but more technical and it is related to step one.

  After activating the Toujours theme on my website through my web-server, the Featured Content does not show up as an option.

  I finally found this option if I try to use this theme through WordPress.com.

  I’ve already created all the nuts and bolts on my website but need to get the “Featured Content” activated so I can get the slideshow visible, Any suggestions?

  Hi @bobbindale, it sounds like your site is self-hosted. The Featured Content Slider requires the Jetpack plugin from WordPress.com. If you install that on your self-hosted site, and connect it to your WordPress.com account, you will then have that featured content slider.

  Hi, i just set my blog using Toujours theme. i managed to set the slideshow (image selected and tagged). however the slideshow is in place, i can see it, but the image space is empty like no image is sliding (despite the fact that the post name is running on the screen like crazy :D ). i think that maybe i missed a tick or something?

  @anambucuresti,

  It looks like you might not have set featured images on your featured content posts. See the Featured Images support page. The Toujours theme guide says:

  For a look that is similar to our demo, start by publishing at least six posts. Use large featured images — at least 1160 pixels wide, and 655 pixels tall — for posts that will be featured in the slideshow.
