Featured content slideshow on home page

  Hi,

  I have tried your setup from an earlier post:

  1) Navigate to Pages –> Add New and create a new page with the ‘Home’ page template assigned

  2) Navigate to Posts –> Add New, and create a post or two that you want to show in the slider, assigning them a particular tag (e.g. ‘slider’). Assign a featured image to these posts and publish

  3) Navigate to Settings –> Reading, and specify a post tag for the slider (you may need to scroll down a bit). Use the same tag as you did in step #2.

  But when I did this, my homepage http://www.tur365.no were the same as earlier and a new page displayed in the menu bar as #880 were looking as it should. How can I get this to be my new/only homepage ?

  Thank you for explaining your process. The Adventure theme’s slider requires a slightly different setup. If you’re hoping to create a custom slider that appears like the one in the demo (http://adventuredemo.wordpress.com/slideshow/), you will want to follow the instructions here:

  You can create either a Homepage Image Gallery, or a Slideshow Page, using the link above. If you need assistance with this, please let me know.

  Thank you for your swift reply.

  The slider that I am looking for is the one used in this example :
  http://adventuredemo.wordpress.com/

  I want to have it not only with a picture slideshow, but with featured content and featured image.

  I am quite new on wordpress, so I hope this makes sense..

  Hi there,

  You can definitely setup the slider on the Adventure theme for featured content. To do this, you’ll need to follow the instructions here:

  http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/adventure/support/

  Just look under “Homepage Image Gallery”. It looks like currently, your front page is set to display your latest posts. You’ll need to follow the steps under “Using the Home Page Template” and “Setting Up a Blog Page” on the instructions page above prior to setting up the Homepage Image Gallery.
