Featured header image on the Blog page

    Hi,
    Impossible to put a featured header image on the Blog page of my site as on the other pages. Do you see where the problem is? The theme is Shoreditch.

    Hi @fradut,

    I found a solution for this. Unfortunately, to do this I also had to stick with the same header image on all pages.

    Go to your wp-admin panel and click Appearance > Customizer > Header Image > Add new image. Crop it they way you like it and remember to save it if you’re happy with it.

    Now here’s the problem with this solution. You’ll notice that each page’s featured image will appear just below your header image, creating a weird two header solution. To remove this effect, I removed the featured images on these pages.

    Never mind my last reply. I figured out how this theme works, and below I’ve inserted instructions for how to make your blog page look like this:

    The “header” on the blog page is more like a slider with featured blog posts in it. You can have between 1-6 posts in this slider. Here are the two steps necessary to get an image to appear in the slider.

    1 – go to a post and make sure there is a featured image. This featured image will appear in the slider if you tag this post with “featured”. After you’ve tagged this post, save it (Update/Publish).

    2 – in your wp-admin panel, click Appearance > Customize > Featured Content. In the text field for Tag name, insert “featured”. Save it and go back to your blog page and reload it. Now there should be a picture here. If you want more pictures to appear in the slide, repeat this process for other blog posts.

    Thanks a lot, jjberg83, for your solution. But I would like to have only an image and not a post at the top of my blog page.

    If I go to Appearance-Customize-static home page and I put Blog as home page, the image is OK but I have no more articles below. Anyway, I want my homepage to be ‘Propriété à vendre’.

    Is there another solution to display an image in the header of the Blog page as on other pages?

    Have you tried out my first suggestion? This will display an image in the header on the Blog page the same way as on the other pages. The downside is that you’ll have to stick with the same header on every page.

    I wasn’t able to find other ways to do this I’m afraid.

    The problem, as you say, is to have the same image on each page while I would like to present in large several aspects of the house.

    Perhaps some members of the staff of WordPress will have ideas?

    Hi there,

    It’s not possible to add a featured image to a dynamic page like the Blog page or Category pages. Featured images can only be added to posts or static pages.

    If you want a head image on the Blog page, you need to use a custom header for your theme instead.
