  Hey there bishdigest!

  I was taking a look at your blog, and it looks like you are using the WordPress.com Publish theme. When I review the documentation for that theme, Featured Images is not listed as an available feature. The features are listed here: https://wordpress.com/themes/publish/

  Even though the page will let you add one in the edit mode, the theme doesn’t support it in publication. In order to use the feature, you’d need to use a different theme.
