Hi there,
The size at which featured images appear is set by the theme, and I don’t know of any theme on WordPress.com that gives you an option to choose your own size.
The only way to modify the size of the featured image is to override your theme’s design using custom CSS code, and that requires the Premium Plan or higher.

You should also know that this type of change, while it might seem simple, is actually fairly advanced from a coding perspective, so it’s not something our support will be able to help with.

I’m having a similar issue. My featured image on a page/post is partially hidden by the page title. If there is no easy way to make the featured image smaller, is there a way to move the page title down to sit below the featured image?

Hi @the1992superman – It’s best that you start a new topic, but we’ll go ahead and try to help here. What is the URL to your site, and have a link to a specific example where we can see what you’re experiencing? Thanks!

Ah, this is how your particular theme operates.
Try adding this via Additional CSS in your Customizer:
.post-thumbnail + .entry-header { margin-top: 0px; } -
