I set a new featured image, but, it keeps showing the old one

    Site: https://cruisewithmaureen.wordpress.com.
    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hi there – Could you let us know where you set the featured image? For example, was it on the home page, or perhaps a specific blog post? Let us know and we’ll jump in and help. :)

Hi, I actually figured that out and the image looks great. I have a new problem, though. When I create my posts, there is a nice space after each picture. When I preview the post, it looks great. When I publish it, however, it removes the space and the text is smooshed right up against the picture. If I post 3 pictures in a row, it looks like one giant picture. Is there a way to guarantee like a half inch space after each picture? Thanks! Here’s the link, if that helps. Somehow, I was able to make the first few pictures work, but, once I get to me on the airplane, they’re up tight again. Check out that featured image of me with the sled dogs! https://cruisewithmaureen.wordpress.com/2021/08/15/alaska-on-hal-maasdam/

  • Hi there,

I visited your site and saw the images in your post. Specifically these two you pointed out, which should have some padding between them, but instead have no spacing:

I tried this on my test site, and for me images have padding between them as you would expect, but it seems there is something specific about how you are adding images to that post that is different from what I am doing.

With that in mind, can you walk me through how you are adding images? Do you add them one at a time as you write the post within the WordPress editor? Or are you composing everything in another source like a Word doc or email, and then pasting the full post contents into the WordPress editor?

Also do you happen to do anything special to the individual images once they are within the WordPress article, like change the the image size settings or anything like that? Thanks for the additional info!

Oh, okay, good, we’re getting somewhere, lol. Maybe that is the problem. I am copying and pasting photos from Facebook. Is that my whole problem? This was a review that I had posted on Cruise Critic. I went through and copied and pasted all the words, then went back one at a time and pasted the appropriate images. I’m starting to think that is why I’m having such trouble. Thank You for helping me.

Yep – that would do it! If you use the WordPress editor, it’ll use your site’s theme to style that content (and add that padding). Using content copied from Facebook, it’s going to try and keep Facebook’s formatting, which won’t look as nice on your site.

Let us know if you still have trouble!
