  how can I show just the title and the featured image on first page? Right now my blog is showing the featured image and the post itself. I want the first page to just show the featured image with the title so the readers click and read only the posts they want to and don’t have to scroll down through other posts

  Try inserting the More tag after the image: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

  Or, try a more portfolio-oriented theme, like http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/hatch/ or http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/mixfolio/ or http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/photography/
