A question you get a million times….
I am new to wordpress and would like to start sharing my posts via FB but the featured images from either page will not post. I have done a bit of research but can’t pinpoint the problem and would be super grateful for support from the experts!

I think it’s more about facebook and perhaps the style of your theme.. it worked when I did a trial for a G+ share (I saw the image that is..)
I hope someone has an idea for you, the only other thing I could suggest is to include the picture in your post, at a smaller size.

@acatanella – can you please link to a published post on your above site loveassembly.wordpress.com where you are using a featured image?
The only published post I found is your original “Hello World” post from 30th April.
Are you perhaps referring to a different site? If so, we would need a link starting with https://

@acatanella – This is going to be long but I hope I will cover everything.
It seems you are trying to use the share buttons to share the front page of your site, which appears to be a static front page (I suspect its your “About” page).
Because the image you currently see on your home page is your theme’s header, there’s no image per se to share to Social Media. There’s no “featured image” or “custom header image” there. I tried a test to share your home page to Twitter, Google+ and Facebook, and there was no image present in any of them. However, when I tried to share this Page loveassembly.wordpress.com/i-love-dawn, the custom header image/featured image came through.
So let’s start at the beginning. Here’s some reading:

https://en.support.wordpress.com/lexicon/In the long run, writing and publishing all your Posts as Pages will hurt you in search engine returns because search engines like dynamic contest (read: Posts). Posts are pushed out in your site’s RSS feed.
As you are just getting started, I really recommend working your way through https://learn.wordpress.com and maybe signing up for Blogging 101 https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2015/05/23/june-blogging-u-registration/ which will begin shortly on The Daily Post. That will really help you get your feet wet and get support from Staff and other community members who are participating as well.
I know that’s a lot of information to digest in one go, but please post back if you have more questions.

One more thing:
Sharing a Page using the Share buttons and Publicizing a Post are entirely different.
Publicizing will only work on Posts. When you connect your services, any Post you publish will be automatically sent out to those connected services.

Hi,
I noticed you added a small image on the post ‘I love dawn’, I checked and it’s size is too small for a facebook share. It’s size is only 236 x 336 pixels and the minimum / to best size recommended for Facebook Sharing is 600 x 315 pixels to 1200 x 630 pixels.

When sharing I Love Dawn, the image that came through in Shares (but so far only in G+ and Twitter) was the custom header image which is 620 × 350 pixels. (Cyclades houses FTW!)
I had a ton of fun following along with Blogging 101 (and Photo101 when I could) and the community there is very supportive. Give it a whirl! :)
