Featured image

Is it possible to adjust your featured image on the blog page where you read what is written?

  • Hi @sanguinesansan,

Do you mean to have a preview of what’s inside the blog post when seeing the post from the homepage?

As far as I can see your theme doesn’t feature this at the moment, but if you’ve got the CSS customiser maybe there’s some tricks that can be implemented.

I am currently using the theme “broadway” and when I insert a featured image, it automatically adjust itself and sometimes the face in the picture is not seen. I’m hoping we can adjust it like how we can adjust our facebook cover photo.

  • Hello there!

That is caused indeed by the size of the image. Some pictures are vertical rather than horizontal, so the featured image on the single post tends to ‘pick’ the image in its horizontal rendering.

The best image resolution Broadway Walk features is 2000 wide by 1500 high (pics are wider than higher). If you manage to place images of this size you won’t be having issues. As you could see, you can put smaller images, but they won’t look the same on larger screens.

In fact, if you pick this post, for instance: https://sanguinesansan.wordpress.com/2016/02/10/what-will-my-future-be-like/, the featured image appears badly cropped on a large screen, but if you shrink the browser and make it narrow, you’ll see the whole image appearing correctly.

Let me know if it’s all clear and if I can help you in any other way.
Cheers and have a good day!
