Featured image background scroll on mobile

  I’m using affinity theme and love the look. But the featured image doesn’t scroll in the background on mobile, only on desktop. Any themes that do?

  I’m talking about when the title scrolls over the top of the image. Looks great, doesn’t work on mobile.

  Looking for recommendations.

  Hi Caroline,

  That effect is known as parallax scrolling; the code to achieve parallax scrolling on mobile is very complex and requires some tradeoffs, such as a visible scrolling bar. I had a search through a few third-party sites that make use of parallax scrolling and couldn’t find any that do it well on mobile.

  Some of our themes, such as Pique and Collective, do keep the featured image as a background to the text on mobile but “turn off” the parallax scrolling effect. You can visit their demo sites on mobile to view that for yourself:

  Apart from that, we don’t currently have any themes with parallax scrolling on mobile devices. Instead, those that make use of the effect on desktop use different design patterns to make your images look the best they can on mobile.
