Featured image caption

  Hi there,

  I would like to display some text below my featured image. I saw that there is a way to add ‘caption’ and ‘alt text’. I have tried putting my text into both those and hit update. I still don’t see any text under the image, nor when I scroll over the image. What am I doing wrong?

  Caption is only for the images that appear in the post or in the galleries.

  Captions can’t be displayed for Featured images. If captions are important for you, then add add caption directly onto the image using a photo editing program like Gimp or Photoshop.

  Ah, that’s what I suspected. The walk-through for Featured Images though is a bit misleading because it tells you that you can add caption and alt text if you so desire, without telling you that it in fact doesn’t actually work!
