Featured Image: Doesn't Display within Page / Does Display from Grid Page

    To help others, adding to the forum, I am adding the following summary of our requests and follow-up from Happiness Engineers pertaining to CSS code we needed, in order to use Featured Images with our Fortune theme but to not have them displayed (“again”) within the applicable page (Grid or Standard) BUT to have them displayed for grids within Grid Pages. I hope my random clarification makes sense :-) So, here’s the final summary and results (copying and pasting some content from our latest E-Mail thread):

    Correct, we don’t want Featured Images displaying within the applicable page they belong to BUT we do want them displaying within the horizontal “header image” and we do want them displayed within Grid Pages. After introducing what we wanted, the following CSS was applied:

    .page-child .entry-thumb {display: none;}

    Then, because the Featured Images were not appearing from the Team Grid Page (as they were from others), we added the following:

    .page-id-141 .entry-thumb {display: block;}

    Then, we recently noticed that three additional Grid Pages were now not showing the Featured Images, so we applied the following in addition:

    .page-id-816 .entry-thumb {display: block;}

    .page-id-860 .entry-thumb {display: block;}

    .page-id-827 .entry-thumb {display: block;}

    Moving on, we then noticed that if and when we add text / content into a Grid Page (which we normally don’t do), then the Featured Image of that Grid Page is displayed within the page (which is what we don’t want and don’t have when we don’t add text / content into the Grid Page).

    Now, I will remove all of the above (currently in place) code and apply (only) the following from you to see its effects:

    .has-post-thumbnail .entry-thumb {display: none;}

    .grid-item .entry-thumb {display: block;}

    BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

    RESULTS: This code is indeed PERFECT!!! It tackles all display requests / desired results including the individual issues as previously explained. It does however have an effect on the Featured Images displayed from the Blog’s default page as well as these previously displayed from the current blog posts you see on the home page. This result from this code is actually fine and keeps the default blog page “cleaner” such that all blogs display the same from this default page and the home page (without Featured Images) – easier on the eye as opposed of having to see some with and others without that Featured Image, from these two, aforementioned locations.

    I hope this is helpful for others using the Fortune theme or similar themes.
