Featured image in social media.

    Good morning,
    I’m using the theme Dara, it’s a nice theme but i have an issue with the featured image.

    I’m using 1180 by 360 o 580 size. When I share the post in Facebook, the featured image change and it’s no in the same position. I always write some title over the image so when I see the image in facebook the words are not complete.

    Can you help me with that. Thanks.

    In terms of sharing images with Facebook through any platform, please make sure you are aware of their image requirements – their image requirements are as follows:

    *At least 480×480 pixels in both width and height
    *Aspect ratio of width and height no greater than 3; in other words, the width can’t be more than three times more than the height, and vice versa. An image such as the garden image below is too disproportionate for Facebook to use (300 pixels wide by 90 pixels high)

    To add to what zyousafi said – while it’s not possible how to control how the sharing thumbnail is cropped on different social-media platforms, like Facebook, since you’re running a self-hosted site, you could use a plugin to better control things. For example, you could assign a separate image with specific dimensions to be shared on each social media platform. A popular plugin for this purpose is Yoast SEO.
