Featured Image is showing tags on top of it

  Hi, I’m new to blogging and have very little coding experience. When I add a featured image to my blog posts and then publish it, my tags are listed on top of the image. I’ve had to remove the featured image and so my posts on the front page are just text. If you click on the feature my image is showing, but I would like this on the front page also. I’m using the Expound Theme. Not sure where to go to get the tags off. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve tried resizing the thumbnail image to 150 x 150 pixels and I still have this problem.
