Featured Image needs to be able to Link images

    I recently converted my site to Full Site Block theme 2022.

    I was trying to use Feature Image Block to use on of my new and old posts but it only allows Media Library, Google or Pexel. I would like to link images for the black just like I can do in a normal image block. Feature Request

    I think I understand what you want. I think it’s a little bit hidden but you can still add the featured image from a link (URL).
    When you select Library, you’ll see an upload screen like the one used to upload an image to a post. There, instead of using the “Add new” button, you click the arrow and select “Add via URL”.
    You can check the guide on featured images, the image is a bit different from the reality but it would serve as a guide.

    Let me know if this was what you meant or if I misunderstood your request.

    Hi there,

    Just to add to the answer above, if you mean you want to hotlink your featured image (add the image via a link to a third party site without actually uploading it to the library), that’s not possible. Featured images must exist in the site’s media library before they can be used.

    But you can upload the image to the library via a URL, as explained above.

    That is my concern. I must add to my Media Library before I can use it as a Feature Image (add extra steps and eventually blows up my storage space). I am using my media library for images that are not already available on my photography website – which is where almost all of my image heavy posts will get their images from. Since an Image Block can use a link to a URL, it would be a nice feature to allow the URL Link as well in the Feature Image Block.

    Hi @creatorspalette,

    If storage space is a concern, you may want to consider upgrading to a paid plan. For example, a Premium plan offers 13GB of storage, while a Business plan includes 200GB.
