Featured Image new feature suggestion

  Yes, I know you make suggestions to the staff, but I want to gauge the level of frustration out there. I get that Featured Images must be a certain size. I get that my time is too precious to spend tweaking graphics till they’re flawless.

  Surely it can’t be that hard to add to the Feature Image uploader the same “crop bar” that we have for the custom header???? And if the actual image is differently proportioned or whatever, could we not show the cropped version on the front page and the entire thing on the post’s unique page???

  Also, it seems logical to me that, as most bloggers use one image only in most posts, that if there is one image that image automatically be Featured. And then if you use it, you get the same image twice: once squashed and cropped, once full.

  This, my friends, is non-optimal.

  Oh yes, I meant to say: wouldn’t it be cool if you could put an image in your post and, if it’s the only one, it is automatically Featured but only shows as Featured on the main page, and when you click to the blog post it automatically shows the originally uploaded version, not the cropped one.

  Am I making sense?
