featured image not appearing

  When you click on my blog home address, the featured image that i wanted to appear at the top of the post is there. http://williamburr.wordpress.com/

  But on the blog post itself, it doesn’t appear. http://williamburr.wordpress.com/2014/09/29/my-week-at-a-monastery/

  Do you know why this is?

  I consulted your detailed theme description page http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/syntax/
  I noted this image http://theme.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/featuredimage.jpg?w=227&h=300 and the text found on the theme description page:

  Assigning a Featured Image to your post will display the image above and behind your content on the blog archive and index.

  As timethief mentioned, a post’s featured image in Syntax is designed to be displayed on the blog index page, not on single individual posts. If you’d like it to appear in both places you would need to insert it in the post as well as assigning it as a featured image.
