Featured image not showing up
-
I posted an article yesterday and I included a featured image with it, but that image isn’t what’s showing up next to the article when I try to post it on Facebook or as the icon next to the article in the sidebar.
Could you please help me resolve this so that the featured image shows up as the main image for this article? That’s the way it’s always worked in the past. Has something changed to break that feature?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

In the future, should I try inputting the Featured Image before adding any images to the article itself?

You are using Twenty Ten and the only featured images are featured header images in that themes. You can even use a different custom header image for each post by including a Featured Image when you publish a new post. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/featured-image-header/
When featured images do not display it’s because the dimensions of the image required by the theme are not being respected. In Twenty the Header image must be 940 in width and 198 in height.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not talking about the header at all. I’m talking about the Featured Image on the bottom right corner when creating a new post. I set a Featured Image and it displays on the right side of the page in my widget that shows the most visited posts of the past 24 hours and on social media sites.
This has nothing to do with the header. Why are you talking about that? Look at my website and you’ll see that the other popular posts have the proper Featured Image next to them, even though they’re different shapes and sizes. That’s all I want — exactly what WordPress has done in the past. Something appears to have changed for the worse.

The only featured images in the Twenty Ten theme are featured header images and you can confirm that here

Perhaps you could tell me what the dimensions of a Featured Image need to be. That would probably help.

I’m not talking about headers. When creating a new post you can set a Featured Image for that post. That is what I’m talking about. Do you understand what I’m referring to?

I know you said what the dimensions need to be for the header, but are there correct dimensions for a Featured Image on each individual post?
-
I feel like we’re having trouble communicating here. Just open a new post and you’ll see that there is a spot on the right for setting a “Featured Image” for that specific post. That is all I’m referring to. Not headers or anything else. Please help me with this, not with headers.
-
I’m even more confused after visiting those links you sent me. All I want is to set a Featured Image for individual posts. Please help me with that. What dimensions are required for a post, not for the header?
-
Maybe you can explain what that Featured Image in each post does. I’m under the impression that it is the default image that is supposed to show up when someone shares that post on social media. But from what you sent me, I don’t understand what it really is. I just want an image that shows up for that post when it’s shared, not something that is going to replace the header. It’s always worked like that in the past. What is going wrong here?

In what themes do Featured Images still show up properly as thumbnails for their articles? I’d like one that has a similar look as Twenty Ten, if possible.
-
I may have figured it out. The Featured Image I had set was slightly under the thumbnail size in the settings. I’ll try adding a slightly larger version of the image and see if that fixes that problem.

Okay, I figured out the problem. I simply needed to make the image larger. It had nothing to do with headers or anything like that.
