Featured Image Not Used

  Hi,

  When I create a post, I am allowed to select a “Featured Image”. I would think that this is the photo that is used when seen in the WordPress reader, or the photo that is used when I share through Facebook. However, this is not the case.

  Maybe I am understanding the use of “Featured image” incorrectly. Please advise or maybe I’m doing something wrong?

  In the WordPress reader, it is showing the gallery I’ve created in my post. How can I change it so that the WordPress reader is showing my featured photo?

  I’ve did some research, and it seems nothing can be done about Facebook selecting a random photo. I’ve gotten around this by sharing my post in Facebook directly, and just uploading my featured photo into Facebook. Though, I really wish this can be fixed.

  I am using the Adelle theme with css customization.

  Hello ,
  I’m sorry but we cannot help with this. We have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.   Hi, I am aware there is no solution for FB now. But my problem is also with the WordPress Reader. It seems for those who subscribe my blog through Wordpess and see the post in the reader, see the gallery instead of the featured photo. How can I change this so that the reader will post my featured photo? I find Showing the gallery is messy.
