Featured Image not Wide Enough? (Sela)

  • Unknown's avatar

SELA THEME – I’ve uploaded an image in various sizes as my Featured Image, but it only ever reaches halfway across the blog in Desktop mode, no matter its size.

I would like the image to reach from side to side.

Is there any way to resolve this?

  • Hey Isabel,

I’ve checked the image and it seems like it has a 742×421 size which is pretty small for that container. An alternative would be to go for a bigger image size or “force” the width of that image to be 100% via some CSS code, but that has a quality drawback.

Let me know which one do you consider to be fit for you.

    Cheers,
    Robert

  • Hi Isabel! The front-page featured image in Sela should be at least 1180px wide to fill the whole area. As Robert pointed out, your current image is well below that.

Try uploading a featured image that is at least 1180px wide and let us know how it goes.

If you want to find the original image used on the Sela demo, you can download it here from Pixabay:

You can see recommended sizes for elements in Sela in the Quick Specs box at the bottom of Sela’s showcase page here:
