Featured Image Problems
-
Ok, so I’ve been using the “Something fishy” theme, but for some reason, it won’t let me add a featured image! I really want to add the image in, so I would very much appreciate it if someone helped me with this problem. It may just be the theme, but it says it does have featured images. I hope someone can help. Thank you very much!

Hi,
I was unable to find your posts or blog page — you might want to provide a link to it in your custom menu — but your archives page for 2016 posts has a featured image displayed. The lone post in the archives page, Types of People: On Vacation, however, does not have a featured image displayed. Together these results suggest that the Something Fishy theme displays the featured image on the posts page and on archives pages, but not on single posts.

You might try a larger image, of say 1000-1500 pixels in width, to see if you obtain the same result.

Hi @owlsrdabest,
@musicdoc1 is right that featured images for this theme will only display alongside posts on the archive or posts page. Featured images will need to be at least 1000px in width and 250px in height in order to display, also.
If you’d like to display your featured images on single posts or pages then you may wish to consider a different theme from our repository. I’ll be happy to help with suggestions if you let me know a little more about what your site’s going to be about and what sort of features you’re after.

@ siobhyb,
Thanks.
Featured images will need to be at least 1000px in width and 250px in height in order to display, also.
The featured image displaying on the site’s 2016 archives page has file size 626 x 250.

@musicdoc1: Thank you for spotting that! I tested and, you’re right, there are no size requirements with this theme. That was a mistake on my part.

No worries. : ) I had looked at the dimensions of that image yesterday, and noticed it was small. I suggested trying images of greater width, but expected that it wouldn’t make any difference on single posts and pages.
