Featured Image Setting
-
In addition to the current way to set the featured image for a post, it would be convenient if you could just select one in the post by clicking it (the image block) and then a star button or a choice in the dot menu to Make Featured. (To change to a different image in the post, click it and do the same.) This would be faster and more intuitive than the current method, and it would be easier to select the right one if several similar images are in the media library.

Hi there,
That does sound like it would be very convenient. However, this isn’t something we control.
How featured images are assigned is controlled by the WordPress software itself, and that’s made by the community on WordPress.org. The good news is it looks like they’re already discussing it in https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/13795, so hopefully we’ll get this in a future release of WordPress.
Meanwhile, as you’re on the Business Plan, you can use a plugin to do this (found it mentioned on that thread):
It also looks like this option has already been added to the editor in the WordPress mobile apps, so if you use the mobile app to create your posts, you’ll already be able to do it there.
