Featured image setting missing

Add topic to favorites
I was working on a post and when I went to set the featured image… the setting is missing.

I went into settings, but there’s nothing there about featured images. It’s like there’s been another update, and it’s lost the featured image setting.

Is there a workaround to get the featured image up? Any help is appreciated.

WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: Yes
Correct account: Yes

More info: The Categories and Tags sections are also missing when using Chrome (Vivaldi).

I can get Categories and Tags if I use Safari but still no Featured Images.

More Info (2): My husband on a different computer has the exact same issues for his site.

Oh this is sad, you posted March 5 and have no responses :(

I’m not able to add any featured images to my blog posts either. Just submitted a post in the forum too, https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/no-longer-have-option-to-add-featured-image-to-blog-posts/

Hey, thanks for commenting. I forgot to update that full functionality is back. It seems like it was just one of WP’s update hiccups. Hopefully, you’ll get your featured images back soon, too.

I still have the issue.

I am not able to add featured images to any of my blog posts that are in draft status.

(If I go through the motions of editing a published blog post, the option to add/replace/remove a featured image is not available either.)

For me, this issue started about one week ago, must have happened after publishing my most recent post on March 24, 2024.

I’m glad though, for you, the issue got resolved.
