Featured image showing in header

Hey guys I’m very new to WordPress, trying to learn by doing but I’ve hit a snag. The featured images on my posts (necessary for my home page carousel) are showing in the header. How on earth do I stop this happening? I’ve gone into the theme settings and the ‘show the featured image on pages’ option is not ticked, and yet there it sits.

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hey there, did you sort this out? Posts are your articles, and pages are things like the front page and your contact page, if you have one. So you’d want to uncheck the option to display featured images on individual posts — and it looks like you’ve got that.

Please let us know if you need more help. Cheers!

I sort of winged it, had to change between about four different themes before finding one that actually gave me the options to sort it! Still no idea why the default one wouldn’t give me the option though…

  • Hi there,

Some themes are designed to use the featured image on a post or page as a custom header, so you likely had a theme enabled that worked that way.

As you’ve now sorted it out I’m marking this thread as resolved, but let us know if we can help with anything else.
