Featured image – to display or not

In the older themes, it was possible to choose whether to not to display the featured image on blog pages under customisation – I don’t think this is possible with the new themes.
If you want an image to display in the post block, a featured image must be added to the post but not always wanted on the published blog page. Therefore, it would be great if the option to display a featured image or not could be reinstated.

Hi there,
You’re referring to the Content Options feature.
I’ve forwarded your request to our themes team, but it’s unlikely that this feature will be added to the newer block-editor themes, as these themes work completely differently from standard WordPress themes, including in how they treat featured images, and it’s more likely that as the block editor evolves it will become possible to control this from directly within the editor.
