Featured Image–uploaded OK, shows in editor when editing the page–But does not show up on the website… and I have tried saving/publishing it many times!

I have third party cookies enabled on Firefox.
I have no problem uploading the image and setting featured image. It shows up in the Editor.
But image does not show up when I view the page. I have only tried setting a featured image on the WELCOME page… I might go and try it on the other pages. Maybe the image size is wrong? but it shows up in the editor, so…???

I’ve tried setting a featured image on all pages and none show… different images uploaded, too. The images that were default for the page design DO show up, though… So maybe something is wrong with my images???

Is the image in your Media Library?
You cannot set a featured image by hotlinking to an image that is not hosted on wordpress.COM servers ie. it has to be in your Media library.
Also it cannot be an oversized image that dos not fit into the theme dimensions. https://wordpress.com/themes/wilson/

yes, Image is uploaded to Media Library– several are, in fact. Small one shows up OK, but FEATURED IMAGES do not…

I tried the smaller image that shows up as Featured Image and it doesn’t show up… so it’s something to do with the Featured Image, I think. Not size.

Hi there,
Your theme, Wilson, does not show featured images on individual posts and pages. It only shows featured images along with the post title on the front page of your site, or the Posts page if you have a static front page set up. You can see this on the demo site for this theme:

Every theme handles featured images differently, and only some actually shows the image on individual posts and pages.

Thanks for telling me. Weird that the featured image wouldn’t show up on the front page, either (when it shows a featured image in the demo), but it doesn’t matter. Now that I know it’s not supported at all– I just put the image in the body…

You have a static front page on your site, and as that’s a single page, it doesn’t show the image. The front page will only show featured images for individual posts if the front page is set to display latest posts. Sorry if I wasn’t clear on that :)
