Featured Image will not upload

  I have always been able to upload a featured image. I am trying to make a new post and I can’t add a featured image. How can I get this to work? I have tried numerous times on the post that I am working on. I have tried to start a different new post. I am unable to upload a picture and now there is a small box on the left side of my dashboard screen with a small yellow and orange x in is. Can you help me fix this problem.

  However it looks like you are using a self hosted version of WordPress
