  Why does my featured image work on one post but not another? Here, https://iamrainman.wordpress.com/2015/01/08/paying-respects-to-abraham-lincoln/ it displays above the header line, but here, https://iamrainman.wordpress.com/2015/01/13/getting-personal/ it does not display at all, or displays only the alternate text if I use try to use a featured image (I’m not currently doing so; the image here was entered into the post itself).

  Rather than remove this, I will provide the answer I discovered. The image simply appears differently depending on how the post is viewed. When viewed in the home page, it is above the header. When viewed as the post by itself, the featured image does not appear. Unless the format of the post is changed to an image format — then it will appear always.
