  Can you please tell me what the optimal size is for the featured image on a page of wordpress. How many pixels by how many pixels?

  It depends on exactly which wordpress.COM theme https://wordpress.com/themes/ you use and I cannot help you because the site is private. See https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/ and note https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#find-themes-supporting-featured-images
