featured images

Hi! Excited to be here on WordPress! I just moved my blog from Blogger over here…
My theme is twenty-eleven. I have three posts on my blog right now. Two have featured images on the post. I can’t figure out how to make these featured images show on the blog itself. When I go to “theme options” under “Appearance,” it asks me if I want to use any of the photos pre-chosen there or to upload another photo for the top of my blog. But can I not have a different “featured image” on top of each post? If so, what setting do I need to change?

A featured image in 2011 replaces the regular header image when you view a single post. So a) it can’t show up if you have removed the header image, b) it has to be in the pixel dimensions the theme specifies for header images (or larger, if you don’t mind the cropping).

Thank you! That cleared it up. I needed to have that header image on there. Even if it isn’t the one I ultimately want. For now, I have to put something there in order for the others to show up on the post pages. THANKS!
