Featured Images

Over 14 years using WordPress, I’ve tried many different themes and uploaded various sized featured images. Currently, I’ve selected the Twenty Twenty-One theme for my site.

I’d like to try other themes, too – such as Blockbase and Zoologist. However, individual posts on these themes expand images assigned as ‘featured’ to full width, which diminishes quality if the image used is less than recommended.

With a substantial quantity of posts, wherein making modifications to accommodate suggested image-size is futile, is there CSS to apply to such themes which allow featured images to display in individual posts per dimensions as uploaded?

    Thanks.

  • The CSS necessary to limit the featured image size will depend on the theme you’re using, but it can be done.

Once you’ve found a theme you like, please let us know and we’ll help with the CSS for that. :)
