Featured images and sidebar. Theme choice help.

    I have been using the Bushwick theme, and I love the featured image, ie. if I attach an image to a blog post, it shows in a sticky column to the left, with the title and date imposed on the image. This is ideal for my requirements. However, the sidebar on the right is hidden and accessed via a widget. I need a permanent sidebar.
    Is there another free or cheap theme that behaves in this way with featured images and a static sidebar?
    (The blog is to document charity fundraising, so I need to keep the costs as low as possible!

    I can’t really think of another free theme that has a similar layout to Bushwick but with a visible-by-default widget area – it’s a pretty unique theme. Does the featured image need to be on the left side or could it be displayed in the top header area? That would give you much more choice in free themes.
