Featured Images Aren't Showing Up On Facebook

    Hello! I’ve had an active blog since March 1. No problems until a few days ago, where — about 75% of the time — the featured image I select for blog posts aren’t showing up on Facebook. Instead, I get the WordPress logo and/or am asked to upload an image, which often doesn’t fit very well or will come out blurry. Before, the featured photos just “auto-fitted” and showed up. I didn’t have to do a thing.

    Around this same time — I’d say Tuesday, May 5 — my Facebook posts that feature my blog posts aren’t generating nearly the same amount of Facebook views. Facebook posts that used to get 1,000 views are getting 500 views, and posts that used to get 300-500 views are now getting under 100 views, which is crazy as I have nearly 2,000 followers and am providing good content (if I don’t say so myself!). As a result, the actual views for blog posts are also a bit down.

    In many cases, I’m using the same photos that I’ve been using for months. (Got a bunch of recurring ones.) These photos used to show on Facebook. Now they’re not.

    I’ve got to think the images issue and the Facebook views issue are somehow related as they both popped up at the same time — 10 weeks or so into the blog. I’m hoping this can be resolved.

    Hello, your theme Bueno is now retired: https://theme.wordpress.com/retired/bueno/ So it may cause your problem.

    You can try to change it, here is the list of all available themes: https://theme.wordpress.com/

    Also make sure that your new theme has Featured Image option.

    Thank you, I just changed themes and upgraded a bit. I did not realize my theme was retired. Do you know when that happened? Should I have been alerted? Maybe I was and I missed it?

    There is no information about when Bueno theme was retired.

    I don’t think that you should get any notifications about retirement of your current theme.

    Themes are retired because they can no longer support the majority of new WordPress features.

    Those who have used them on their blog previously or who are using theme when retired can continue using theme.
