Featured images by default

  Hi,

  Wondering if anyone else would find it useful for sites to have a selectable option for posts to use the first image as a “featured image” by default?

  Some themes seem to look quite poor when posting without a featured image so those ones would seem to make sense to have this function added.

  There are many plugins available to do precisely this on wordpress.org sites.
