Featured Images – Control size?
-
Featured Images on my blog post becomes smaller than uploaded size.
Example. Go to:
https://etereaestudios.com/2024/10/24/jornada-sobre-designer/
If I RMB-Click to open featured image in a new tab I read this in the URL:
Observe that “?w=1024” at the end
That 1024 is a REDUCED SIZE which causes nasty pixelated effect on image texts when upscaling on a big 27″ 5K screen
If I remove that “?w=1024” then the image shows bigger, at real/original 1920×1080 size, much better to upscale.
On the other side:
If I go to Template > Single Posts > Edit Template
Select the Feature Image Area > Styles
The Aspect Ratio says “Original” and the Height & Width parameters are empty “— px”
When I insert an image inside a post I can choose between Thumbnail, Medium, Large and also FULL SIZE. But this is not possible to determine for a Featured Image, AFAIK.
QUESTION IS:
How can I fix this to force that my FEATURED IMAGES for my posts really becomes REAL SIZE? 1920 width, as I upload them, instead of 1024?
My original theme is Videomaker White
Any input will be welcome!
Thanks!

Hi there!
This is related to an known issue in WordPress where full-width featured images are forced to have a horizontal resolution of 1024 px.
In the meantime, you can fix this by going to Customizer > Additional CSS and update the Media Width field to 1920 px.
I hope this helps you. If you have any further questions, please let us know!
