Featured Images for Pages

    Good Evening,

I am currently using Affinity Theme. I have uploaded Featured Images for all the pages within my Menu (Home, About Me, Food, Adventure, Every Day and Archive).

However . . . only some of the pages have the Featured Image that I have given them (Home, Archive, About Me). All of the others (Adventure, Food, Every Day) all have the Featured Image and Quote from the Homepage. I believe that this is because I have set rules for these pages to show content based on their category.

Is there a way around this where?

    Many Thanks, Scott

    Hi Scott,

However . . . only some of the pages have the Featured Image that I have given them (Home, Archive, About Me).

The Home page is the blog page, and the Archive and About Me pages are static pages. Each of these pages will display a featured image if one is applied. The Affinity theme guide says:

Affinity supports prominent Featured Images on the blog, and single posts and pages.

The others you mention (Adventure, Food, Every Day) are dynamic category pages. There is no way to attach a featured image to these.

All of the others (Adventure, Food, Every Day) all have the Featured Image and Quote from the Homepage.

How would you attach a featured image to a category page? A category page is automatically generated when the corresponding category is assigned to one or more posts. Have you used CSS customization to alter the default behavior of category pages?

All of the others (Adventure, Food, Every Day) all have the Featured Image and Quote from the Homepage.

On most themes, you can’t attach a featured image to the blog page. So, ordinarily, the blog page and archives pages would show the site header (custom or default) if one is set.

Have you set a custom site header image? If you are indeed displaying a featured image on the blog page, and the same image is not set as the site header image, then Affinity is an exception in that it displays a featured image on the blog page. This might help to explain why it would use the featured image from the blog page on archives pages as well.
